GREEN BUILDING INFORMATION

Poirier Homes is a certified green builder by National Association of Home Builders, Building America challenge participants, and Energy star certified builders with our homes 100% committed.


The Home Builders Association of Connecticut is bringing green to the mainstream with Build Green Connecticut.  Based on the National Green Building ProgramTM, it includes the first and only ANSI-certified, green building standard in the nation (the NGBS, or National Green Building Standard). 
 
NAHB's National Green Building Program offers builders, remodelers, developers, and other home building professionals a variety of services to learn, incorporate, and market green building.
 
Spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Builders Challenge is a voluntary effort to provide compelling answers. Through the Builders Challenge, participating homebuilders will have an easy way to differentiate their best energy-performing homes from other products in the marketplace, and to make the benefits clear to buyers.
The Builders Challenge is based on lessons learned from the Building America Research Program  a private/public partnership that develops energy solutions for new and existing homes. Learn more about Building America and find out why builders aren't already building homes to this standard as basic practice
